Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapists (OTs) have experience and skills across a wide range of different conditions and client ages.

We will help you find the clinician who best fits with your therapy needs.

What is an Occupational Therapist?

An occupational therapist is a trained healthcare professional who assists you to improve your functional abilities. This might include upper limb re-training after a stroke, early intervention to improve school preparedness, or prescribing equipment that helps you or your loved one move around the community (like in a wheelchair).

OT Assessments

An OT assessment is generally one to two hours long, onsite at Alike and costs $200 per hour.

Reports can often be requested by different groups like the NDIS for an NDIS functional capacity assessment or an employer for a return-to-work plan.

An OT report process requires an assessment and review of appropriate information; this can take anywhere from one to eight hours. The fee for such a service will be calculated based on your unique circumstances and discussed with you (and/or your relevant case manager) prior to any commencement of service.

Seeing our OT team

There are some Medicare and private health insurance programs that you might be eligible for. We can discuss this with you individually to help plan out the best cost-effective approach to your care.

Our OTs often sit in with the Doctors at Alike to provide their expert opinions and assist in providing expert care. This is called multidisciplinary care and is an Alike point of difference.
