Dr Taya Dowling is a General Paediatrician and Adolescent Physician who has been caring for children, young people, and their families in the Newcastle region since 2008. She is a Staff Specialist at John Hunter Children’s Hospital, a role she has held since 2016.

While Taya has a particular interest in Eating Disorders and Adolescent Health, her expertise spans the full breadth of General Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.

She is dedicated to helping children and young people access the support they need to thrive, with a strong focus on promoting health, wellbeing, and resilience.

Outside of work, Taya treasures time with her husband, two sons, and two much-loved kelpies. Her weekends are often spent on the sidelines of soccer fields and basketball courts, cheering her children on, but she also enjoys running, gardening, and catching up with family and friends whenever she can.
